Exeter University Concert Band is always looking for new members to join us. As a non-auditioned band, we welcome musicians of all abilities.

We have weekly rehearsals on Thursday evenings in Kay House, Duryard which is always a nice, relaxed way to end the day. Concert Band is more than just a band though; with frequent socials, intramural sports and our annual tour on offer it's a great way to meet new people at the university.

We welcome all standard concert band instruments: flute; piccolo; oboe; cor anglais; bassoon; all clarinets; all saxophones; trumpet; cornet; flugelhorn; french horn; all trombones; euphonium; baritone; tuba; non-pitched percussion; and pitched percussion.

Thursday 18:30 - 20:30

What Our Members Say

Ollie, Clarinet

As a 1st year student, I had an ambition of being in a music group that not only has fun, but also plays to a high standard. Concert Band is all that and more. It feels amazing to be in a large music group that plays iconic pieces, and to such a high standard.

Katy, Trombone

I love concert band because everyone is lovely and there are so many people there, there is always an opportunity for a laugh! The music is great– the perfect balance of fun and challenging, and always sounds fabulous!

Rachael, Saxophone

Since I joined, I’ve loved the friendly atmosphere of concert band, it’s wonderful to have such a massive group of people all united by music.
